Winners of Leeds 10k corporate challenge announced

Earlier this month, Deloitte employees swapped their suits for trainers in the Leeds 10K and stormed their way to victory, coming first place in the Clarion Corporate Challenge.

A total of 60 corporate teams, consisting of over 700 runners, competed in the challenge in the hope that their first three finishers could clock the fastest average time to claim corporate challenge victory.

In the hotly-contested challenge, Deloitte clocked an impressive average time of 40:24 to take first place. Clive Brook stole second place with an average time of 41:54 and Sky Betting & Gaming celebrated third place with an average time of 42:51.

The fastest male was Jonathan Ball running for Enterprise. Jonathan clocked a remarkable time of 35:31. Hayley Lloyd-Henry, representing Forbes Solicitors, romped home as the fastest female. Hayley clocked an equally impressive time of 40:35. Both the winners were awarded a Polar M430 Watch for their triumphs.

Leeds 10K’s Clarion Corporate Challenge forms part of the lasting legacy of the late Jane Tomlinson, who raised nearly £2m by completing a series of grueling endurance events – despite being diagnosed with incurable cancer. The challenge started in 2007, the debut year of the Leeds 10K, and is the longest running corporate challenge in the Run For All series.

Leeds-based law firm Clarion have been Corporate Challenge sponsors at the Leeds 10K every year since the race started. The Corporate Challenge season is now well under way with runners previously enjoying runs at the Grand East Anglia Run, Hull Half Marathon, Hull 10K, Leeds Half Marathon and Sheffield Half Marathon.

Next up in 2018 is the Working Win Corporate Challenge at Sheffield 10K on Sunday 23 September and the Welcome to Yorkshire Marathon Corporate Relay on Sunday 14 October.
