Weekender: IT security firm lands Leeds United deal

IT security and storage firm Altinet has signed a deal with Leeds United Football Club as its official cyber security partner.

Having won three English league titles, one FA Cup, one League Cup and been one of the leading televised clubs over the last three seasons, LUFC spend a lot of time in the public eye, making them a prime target for cyber-attacks, says Altinet.

The partnership will provide Leeds United with the latest security solutions, as well as fast-response technical support to assist with all of their security changes.

Paul Bell, Leeds United’s executive director, said: “We are delighted to have started our partnership with Altinet. We have a directive to develop long term partnerships with global organisations that have a local presence and alongside the IT Cyber Security and Managed Service that Altinet provide LUFC will be a sponsorship agreement that will be present throughout the stadium and our digital platforms.”

Henry Doyle, Altinet director and co-founder, said: “Our HQ is in the centre of Leeds and it is great to have LUFC as a customer and partner. Altinet’s Cyber Security Managed Services are designed to be resilient and therefore perfect for targeted brands and digital intensive environments. We are confident that the partnership will benefit all parties.”
