People: MD appointed at Redrow Yorkshire; New head of Harrogate estate agency; and more

Housebuilder Redrow have announced its new Yorkshire managing director, who will combine his land and commercial experience and expertise to help the business grow.

Paul Oldridge has joined Redrow Homes (Yorkshire), in Wakefield, from Gleeson Homes & Regeneration, where he spent two years as regional director for its operations in the North West.

Originally a Chartered Builder and quantity surveyor by profession, since 1996 he has held managing director roles with several housebuilders in Yorkshire, the North West and the North East, including Gleeson, Southdale, McInerney, Jones and Wild Bennett Homes.

Immediately prior to joining Gleeson he ran his own residential development consultancy in Leeds for four-and-a-half years, specialising in the sourcing and progression of development opportunities for a range of clients across Yorkshire, North East, North West and Midlands.

“I’ve always admired Redrow as a very well-run business that builds responsibly and values its people. I particularly love the individuality and quality of its product, which is tailored perfectly for its target market. Redrow’s homes are exceptional, with real thought behind their design and specification,” said Oldridge.

“There’s a fantastic team in place in Yorkshire that can deliver that product on time and to a high quality and I’ll be working closely with the land team to bring even more sites forward so we can expand our presence in the region.”

Warren Thompson, regional chief executive, said:  “Paul has a wealth of experience and is well known on the Yorkshire patch due to his previous senior roles.  Running his own land sourcing company means he has made many contacts with reputable land owners and agents, which should assist our business as we move into a period of growth over the next three years.”

Leeds born and bred, Oldridge now lives near Ilkley.

Redrow’s Wakefield operation builds circa 450 new homes per annum and has new homes developments underway across a wide area, including sites in or near York, Harrogate, Leeds, Wakefield and Huddersfield.
