People: Trio of promotions at accountancy firm; New recruits for expanding insurance broker; and more

Leeds-based accountancy firm Murray Harcourt has promoted three new managers within the audit team.

Joel Isaacson, Andy Nichols and Jack Haley have all risen to the position of manager in recognition of their audit and financial reporting expertise.

The 25 strong audit team at Murray Harcourt continues to experience growth.

Audit partner Steve Williams said: “Joel, Andy and Jack have made significant contributions to the business and these promotions recognise their success and hard work at Murray Harcourt.  We look forward to working with them in their new roles and are delighted that the growth of the firm provides these opportunities for the high-quality members of our team to progress quickly.”

Nichols joined the team five years from HSBC; Isaacson arrived at Murray Harcourt in 2017 from EY, while Haley started his career four years ago at the firm.

Independent insurance broker McClarrons, which has its head office in Malton, has welcome two new members of staff to its commercial team.

Tom Frame joins the family-owned business as a trainee account executive, along with new account handler Louise Milner.

Frame has previous experience in insurance, having moved from DE Ford Insurance Brokers in York, while Milner comes from a background in IT account management.

Simon Craig has joined the rural planning team at Savills Darlington as an assistant planner.

Previously from a law and education background, Craig returned to university in 2015 to pursue a career in planning, where he gained a masters in town planning at Newcastle University. Since then, he has gained experience at local planning authorities across the North East.

Craig will assist the team in providing planning advice on behalf of landowners across the North West, North East and Yorkshire. His role will include preparing estate planning reviews, liaison with local planning authorities to bring sites forward for development and preparation of responses to local plans.

Jennifer Longstaff, head of planning at Savills Darlington, said: “Simon is a fantastic addition to the planning team and will be of great assistance to our rural clients across the North of England.
