Dental alignment product goes digital after investment

Pennie Hudson Ward, chief executive of Archformbyte, with the CThru aligner.

Sheffield-based orthodontic laboratory Archformbyte has invested in a digital platform for its new clear aligner product CThru, a device which straightens teeth without obvious visibility.

CThru clear aligners provide patients with a custom-made, innovative device which straightens teeth over the course of six to 18 months.

Archformbyte has used the investment to develop CThru Smiles partnerships with dentists, using digital platforms that enable the immediate, secure sharing of patient requirements.

The digital innovation is helping dentists to deliver an accurate speedy service, and is also helping the company to carry out an efficient and resilient export service to dentists throughout Europe.

This will support the expansion and development of the company, which includes the introduction of new product lines and partnerships with other firms within the sector.

The CThru product is disrupting the supply chain by introducing a different way of ordering, manufacturing a delivering clear aligners, in a market which has previously been dominated by US-based suppliers which have faced little competition.

Pennie Hudson-Ward, chief executive of Archformbyte, said: “We know that dentists want a choice when using clear aligners and we’re determined to introduce an innovative British way of serving patients’ needs. We also deliver a full range of orthodontic appliances that are compatible with all brands of scanners used by orthodontists and specialist dentists.

“We’re aware that other, larger firms exclude even the most popular scanner brands, and we wanted to rectify that.

“Dentists can be assured that our clear aligners are produced here in the UK, and can be distributed quickly and efficiently. We accept any file format scan and produce our appliances from scans at no extra cost to the clinician. Our digital platform is user friendly for both customers and dentists, so we’re confident that it’s a great investment.”
