Normanton-based speciality packaging manufacturer Parkside has increased its workforce by more than a quarter in a little over 12 months.

The firm has increased its headcount to just under 140 in the last year.

Paula Birch, director of sales at Parkside, said: “It’s great to see so many job opportunities opening up at our Normanton site.

“The majority of our staff are based within the local district, making Parkside a significant employer in West Yorkshire.

“These roles will help ensure we provide excellent service and end products to our customers as demand continues to increase.”

Parkside is a global packaging supplier with manufacturing sites in both the UK and Asia.

Key markets include food and drink, medical, pharmaceutical, household and personal care markets, as well as the tobacco sector.

The company has also invested significantly in new state-of-the-art laser equipment at the Normanton site which will create new business opportunities and generate a number of new roles at the company.

Ms Birch added: “With consistent growth in 2017 and a very busy start to 2018, Parkside is paving the way for continued packaging innovation.

“We are going from strength to strength and recent collaborations are the latest in the ongoing re-shaping of our business as a global speciality FMCG packaging provider.

“We are planning further investment across both the UK and Asia sites that will support our near-term growth plans. We are constantly reviewing our plant capacity and equipment investments will be made when required.”
