People: Chief commercial officer appointed; New vice chair named at Wakefield organisation; engineering firm bolsters procurement team; and more

Bradford-based Kings Secure Technologies has announced the promotion of Tim Goodwill to the position of chief commercial officer.

Goodwill first joined Kings in 2014 to oversee the mobilisation of one of the largest account transfers within Kings Secure Technologies; the Post Office.

From there, as a National Accounts Manager, he oversaw business development for the company’s major accounts. More recently, as director of strategic accounts, he led the teams responsible for Kings’ UK-wide sales.

Bob Forsyth, CEO of Kings Secure Technologies, said: “Tim has played a critical role in bringing our strategic roadmap to life across all aspects of business development.

Goodwill has more than 25 years of experience in the fire and security industry, having worked in multiple parts of the security industry and specialising in customer delivery, innovation and sales strategies. Wakefield Bondholders, the not for profit membership organisation created to help in the growth and regeneration of the Wakefield district, has appointed Lanie Green as Vice Chairperson.

Green is Creative Director of Our Agency, which specialises in design and marketing from its base at Nostell Priory. She takes over the role from Graham Howarth, who remains a member of the steering group.

Green said: “I am incredibly honoured to be a representative for Bondholders and an ambassador for the Wakefield district.

“I originally joined Bondholders to make a positive difference to our ‘home turf’ and believe that to achieve change we must work together, encourage prosperity and promote Wakefield as a viable place to invest, live and visit.

“I am very much looking forward to bringing these principles to my new role and to keeping the spotlight shining on our district, after all attracting development and investment into our area will ultimately encourage prosperity as a whole and bring advantages to all.”

Britcon Engineering Services (BES), a division of Britcon Limited, has appointed Peter Redfern to lead its bid and procurement team.

Redfern, who has joined BES as Estimating Manager, brings over 40 years’ experience in the structural steel industry, 18 of which were spent in senior sales for a UK market leader.

His expertise includes complex architectural and logistically demanding projects.

At BES, Redfern will take a senior role in overseeing commercial tenders, market testing and managing client/supplier relations. He will drive a dedicated pre-construction service for clients and maximise early engagement with design and solutions during procurement of projects.

Dacre, Son & Hartley, Yorkshire’s largest firm of independent surveyors and estate agents, has appointed two new Chartered Surveyors.

Nathan Smith and Jon Egan have joined Dacre, Son & Hartley’s survey department, which provides a full range of surveys and professional valuations on all sorts of residential properties throughout Yorkshire.

Smith is a Chartered surveyor who trained at Sheffield University before working in Leeds and London, and has recently returned to his roots in Scarborough.

He will be responsible for professional valuations and surveys on the Yorkshire Coast, from Whitby to Bridlington, extending into Ryedale and parts of East Yorkshire.

James Wattrus, director and senior surveyor at Dacre, Son & Hartley, said: “In addition to Nathan’s wide range of experience, he also has excellent and developing practical knowledge, as he is in the middle of extending and restoring his house in Scarborough.

“We are delighted that he has joined us and are confident that he will continue to develop our business in these parts of Yorkshire, which is a big growth area for us in recent times.”

Egan is also a Chartered Surveyor, and joined the survey team earlier this year to provide professional valuations between Northallerton, Darlington and into Cleveland.

Rudding Park in Harrogate has appointed Charlotte Monkman to the team as Business Development Manager.

Responsible for developing the MICE and luxury travel market on a regional and national level, Monkman will also support the management and development of key accounts.

Monkman returns to Rudding Park having worked in the sales and marketing teams for four years before moving to join the Rugby Football League as Executive Assistant to the CEO and Board for the last six years.

A privately-owned luxury hotel, Rudding Park has 90 bedrooms and suites, a destination spa, two restaurants and a kitchen garden, private cinema, two golf courses and an extensive conference and events space.
