New law firm to open in Harrogate

York-based Roche Legal will today open a new office in Harrogate as part of its expansion plan.

Roche Legal was set up by Rachel Roche in 2014 and offers expertise in dealing with the elderly and vulnerable and recently launched an online will writing service that took two years and cost more than £20,000 to develop.

Rachel Roche said: “Our new Harrogate office will be run by Dilys Mushin who knows the area extremely well. This is a significant day for Roche Legal and Dilys, who like all our staff, is expert at dealing with the elderly and vulnerable. Dilys qualified as a solicitor in 1994 and has expertise in dealing with probate, Wills, lasting powers of attorney, and applications to the Court of Protection.

In addition to seeing clients in the new Harrogate office, Dilys is happy to visit clients wherever they are, whether that is in their own home, or in a residential care home or in hospital.

Mike Willis is also joining the team. Roche added: “We are also delighted to welcome Mike Willis to Roche Legal and he brings with him three decades of experience of helping professionals in England and Wales with their identified civil liability, regulatory and contractual risks, exposures and opportunities. Mike is based in Thirsk and together with the opening of our Harrogate office, we are able to offer our services and expertise throughout the North Yorkshire area.”
After overseeing the launch of the new Harrogate office Rachel will then support the first York Dementia Action Alliance Awards at the Priory Street Centre.
All members of the Roche Legal team are Dementia Friends with Rachel one of three staff members who are Dementia Friend Champions and able to provide information sessions to others.
Roche Legal have also produced two in a planned series of eight self-help books designed to demystify the legal process and help clients deal with challenging situations, particularly involving an elderly relative. The free books are also available to download as eBooks and have been distributed to local Care Homes and GP surgeries.
