100 Club: Candice Robertshaw from Helmsley Group

Candice Robertshaw is the compliance manager at the Helmsley Group. She is a member of the Leeds Community Foundation’s 100 Club, a patronage scheme for individuals who are motivated to make a difference in Leeds.

Here, she discusses what he loves about the city, and why she’s involved in the foundation.

What is your favourite thing about Leeds?

I love the mix of Yorkshire heritage with its new vibrant shopping and nightlife

What would you change about the city?

Creating more green spaces in new developments. This is a challenge all developers face, including us!
Why did you decide to join the Leeds Community Foundation’s 100 Club and how does it benefit your company?

As a Yorkshire business we often work with businesses and individuals in and around Leeds. We do a lot of charity work as part of our commitment to the local area, so having heard about the 100 Club and the brilliant work of the Leeds Community Foundation we wanted to get involved to network and also help however we can.

What community issues are important to you and/or your organisation?

Our chairman and MD do a yearly sleep out to raise awareness and funds for homeless youth. The staff litter picks regularly near our office and The Helmsley Group runs several electric cars too. We even recently planted a 6000 tree wood, so I guess having a pleasant local environment in which to live is high up there.
