First phase of £5.4m residential development completes

Construction works have now been completed on a £5.4m residential development in Sheffield.

Palatine Gardens Phase 1, which is the first of two phases developed by Crossbow Ventures and designed by CODA Architecture, is located in the Shalesmoor area of the city.

The first phase of the scheme comprises 55 apartments, with seven studio apartments and 48 one-bedroom apartments. The development also benefits from bicycle storage and an internal courtyard.

Andy Phillips, commercial director at property investment consultancy Knight Knox, said: “We are currently delivering more residential units in central Sheffield than anyone else with 232 units in the pipeline, including the 55 units at Palatine Gardens Phase 1.

“We believe that the investment that’s going into Sheffield and its growing status among young professionals makes it one of the UK’s most exciting destinations. We are sure that Palatine Gardens Phase 1 will prove extremely popular and we are excited to be providing the city with even more homes in the near future.”

Both phases of Palatine Gardens will be let by Intus Lettings, along with Knight Knox’s residential scheme Great Central, located next to Kelham Island.

Hope McKendrick, lettings manager at Intus Lettings, added: “In preparation for the completion of Palatine Gardens Phase 1, we hosted two open day events for tenants.

“Show flat viewings were fully booked and tenants have now started to move in, which just goes to show the demand for high-quality rental accommodation in Sheffield right now.”

Phase 2 of Palatine Gardens is currently under construction and is expected to complete in Q2 2019.
