70,000 sq ft industrial warehouse sold in £3m deal

A 70,000 sq ft industrial site close to Leeds city centre has been acquired for more than £3m.

Located on Gelderd Road, the warehouse has been sold by property consultant Eddisons to industrial property firm Towngate, a specialist in refurbishing industrial properties.

The former Winerite bonding warehouse site was more recently occupied by groceries wholesaler Palmer & Harvey, and is close to the Whitehall Road and Gelderd Road roundabout.

Steve Jones, Eddisons agency director, said: “Not surprisingly this property generated a great deal of interest. It’s a very prominent site close to the city centre and has enormous potential for refurbishment & reconfiguration for the urban logistics & trade leasing market.

“There is a vast shortage of supply, and consequently escalating demand, for these types of large industrial sites in West Yorkshire.

“Towngate has plans to reconfigure the site to improve access and circulation, carrying out an extensive refurbishment programme. Once that’s complete it will be fantastic premises for prospective industrial tenants and an excellent addition to Towngate’s industrial property portfolio.”
