Claim your place as one of Yorkshire’s Top Technology companies

Do you want to put your company on the radar of leading technology funders? Or tap into the best networking opportunities in the Leeds ecosystem to help grow your business? Then claim your place as one of Yorkshire’s Top Technology companies.

Entries are open for Top Tech Yorkshire which has been launched by the Leeds office of law firm Mills & Reeve, in partnership with TheBusinessDesk.com.

Top Tech Yorkshire is open to companies that are putting the county on the map as a growing hub for technological development and innovation. That may be by developing world leading technology, disrupting the market, or using technology and services to give their clients a competitive edge.

Entrants will be judged on technological innovation, leadership, growth and financial performance, client service and delivery and employee engagement.

The report will also help companies gain access to and build a network across all sectors including the investment community, banking and brand developers to help grow their business.

Mills & Reeve partner Paul Johnson said: “It is hard for growing companies to access the best funders and advisers for their business and to meet some of their peers to learn from each other. What we are trying to do is to use our networks, and the wider tech ecosystem, to help them to find the right partners for their business.

“When you have all the challenges of growing your business this can be very difficult to do on your own, and costly in time and resource if you get it wrong.

“Top Tech Yorkshire, and our monthly networking event, Tech Tuesday, are designed to help further develop the wider tech ecosystem to enable companies to grow their network and access these vital opportunities.

“Our judging panel all share this ethos and have been carefully selected to promote this. They are leaders in their respective fields and are committed to sharing expertise, knowledge and contacts to develop this ecosystem, so it can rival that of London, Manchester and Cambridge.”

Top Tech Yorkshire follows the launch of Mills & Reeve’s Tech Tuesday – a monthly event held every third Tuesday at the Brewery Tap, dedicated to providing a regular opportunity for people in the Leeds tech ecosystem to meet up with existing contacts and make new ones over a drink or two.

The Top Tech judging panel includes:

  • Richard Carter, managing director, Equiniti Credit Services (previously CEO of Nostrum Group which was acquired by Equiniti in 2017)
  • Dr Mark Wyatt, investment director, Mercia Fund Managers
  • Richard Faulkner, managing director, Technology Banking at Silicon Valley Bank
  • Phil Smith, Research Analyst (Technology), SP Angel
  • Mark Fahy, former head of UK SMEs at the London Stock Exchange
  • Josh Robson, head of policy and public relations at the ScaleUp Institute
  • Shubhu Patil, principal associate in the corporate team at the Leeds office of Mills & Reeve, who has a focus on tech sector businesses

Top Tech Yorkshire will be revealed at the launch event on 18 October at The Shears Yard in Leeds.

The companies will be featured in the report which will be published on TheBusinessdesk.com and available for download the following day, providing featured businesses with huge profile opportunities.
