£3m factory expansion completed at wholesale confectionery firm

European inclusions supplier Pecan Deluxe Candy will be launching its newly upgraded and extended manufacturing facilities at its Sherburn-in-Elmet, Leeds headquarters.

The £3m refurbishment includes an expansion of the company’s warehousing, logistics and manufacturing areas, and the installation of a brand new cold extrusion line.

These upgrades will help meet increasing demand for cookie dough, which is Pecan Deluxe’s flagship product line as the largest supplier of cookie dough to the dessert industry within Europe.

The expansion has improved access between various production and storage units to increase efficiency through the reduction of stock movements, and a series of new equipment installations that will increase production capacities in the chocolate moulding and bakery areas.

The investment also saw the installation of loading canopies and the addition of new onsite frozen storage units – powered by a new, dedicated substation.

Pecan Deluxe will unveil the new upgrades at an event on 29 November, where it also reveal a new project that has been kept a closely guarded secret.

Graham Kingston, EMEA and APAC managing director, will officially kick off proceedings on the day.
