New retailers set up shop at refurbished retail centre

Four new retailers are making the move to North Point Shopping Centre in Hull.

This announcement follows on from the completion of a 19-week refurbishment programme at the centre, which included the reconfiguration of 14,000 sq ft of space.

FI Real Estate Management, the retail and property management company, has revealed details of the new lettings.

The new retailers comprise discount arts, goods and crafts retailer The Works (2,505 sq ft); health and beauty shop Savers Health and Beauty (4,000 sq ft); e-cigarettes trader Cheeky Smokes (1,100 sq ft) and nail salon HVT Nails & Spa (600 sq ft).

In total, 13,545 sq ft of space has been let to the six new shops at North Point so far this year.

The improved retail offer of the centre, with 87.5% of units occupied, has also resulted in a boost in footfall, with a 4.2% rise on the previous year to date.

A spokesperson for FI Real Estate Management said: “The high street is facing a challenging time, and it is therefore a huge credit to our asset management team that North Point Shopping Centre has continued to attract new retailers throughout 2018.

“We’re really happy that North Point continues to broaden its retail offer while creating more jobs for local people.”
