Law firm expands branch network to thirteen with new city centre office

A Yorkshire law firm has announced the opening of a new office in York, which brings its network of branches in the region to thirteen.

Ison Harrison’s new office on Micklegate, which will officially open on 29 October, follows on from the firm opening an office in Otley earlier this year and Pudsey and Huddersfield in 2017.

The York office is headed up by Chris Brierley, a property solicitor with over 10 years’ experience in all aspects of residential conveyancing.

Brierley recently joined Ison Harrison having moved to the region to join the firm’s residential property team. With expertise spanning several areas of law, Brierley now specialises in residential property offering clients comprehensive technical knowledge and experience.

Joining Brierley is commercial property solicitor, Richard Scott, who specialises in all aspects of commercial property work. His expertise also extends to development work and agricultural property.

Scott qualified in 1999 and joined Ison Harrison in 2018, having previously worked at a large regional firm and prior to that as a partner in a provincial practice in North Yorkshire.

The firm said that the York branch possesses a focus on residential and commercial conveyancing along with a dedicated new build specialist team, the first of its kind in Ison Harrison’s regional network property service offering.

The York team is further enhanced by Olivia Williams, a trainee solicitor in the new build property team. Williams joined the new build team in August 2016 and assists clients throughout the whole conveyancing transaction process.

Brierley said: “York is a great city and we’re very pleased to open a new office here. The reputation the firm has established in West Yorkshire over the past 40 years will stand us in very good stead in York and the team is very excited about showcasing its property expertise to both the residential and commercial sector.”

Jonathan Wearing, managing partner at Ison Harrison, added: “This has been a great year for the firm. We’re commemorating Ison Harrison’s 40th anniversary this year and have now opened our second office of 2018. Following on from our new office launches last year and at the start of this year, this represents a very positive step for the firm.

“Ongoing growth underpins our objective of retaining a presence on the high street as this ensures we remain in touch with our clients and the communities we operate in. We’re very much looking forward to getting involved in the local community in York and to start offering the first class service for which we are renowned across the region.”

The new legal practice provides a full range of legal services for both business and private clients ranging from new build and conveyancing to family law and wills and probate matters.
