Bannister, who has been a chartered surveyor for 20 years, joins Citivale from developers St Modwen, where he was head of the Yorkshire and North East Region.

He said: “Citivale is a really good fit for me. I left St. Modwen after 10 years to find a new challenge in an entrepreneurial environment and that is what Citivale represents for me. In addition, through the previous successes Citivale have achieved, it means that there is an established track record of performing in JVs and partnerships and I feel we can continue to build on that with our development arm.

“At Citivale, I will be taking a lead on all new build activity within the business, and we are kicking off with a 75,000 sq ft development of speculative industrial space in Edinburgh. However, we work as a team and I am looking forward to adding value through instigating some asset management initiatives and overseeing refurbishment projects,” he explained.

“In a nutshell, this is a fantastic opportunity to join an established and well-respected operating partner and development company with an excellent track record and exciting plans for the future”.

James Appleton-Metcalfe, managing director of Citivale said: “We are delighted to welcome Richard as Citivale’s new development director. He joins at an important time for the company as we continue to expand and embark on new developments.

“As a highly experienced and talented property professional, Richard will be working across our whole portfolio, including high profile projects such as the Humber Enterprise Park at Brough, 7Hills in Edinburgh together with developments in Glasgow, Lancashire and Teesside.”
