Accountancy firm swoops for counterpart

Bradford-based chartered accountancy and business advisory firm, Shenward, has acquired Leeds based  Cox Costello & Horne in a £250,000 deal.

Shenward has enjoyed strong growth over the last several years and the acquisition supports their ambitious  growth plans. It takes staff numbers up to 25 across Leeds and Bradford.

Cox Costello, a national accountancy practice founded in 1997, set out a new venture in the North to provide services to their geographically Northern based clients. Headed by Zak Iqbal and supported by his team, they have quickly grown their presence in the region.

Managing Partner of Shenward, Sherad Dewedi, said: “Over the last few months, we have worked closely alongside Director Zak Iqbal and have built a strong working relationship which we look forward to develop further. Zak brings a wealth of experience and knowledge and has a fantastic team supporting him. The acquisition of Cox Costello enables Shenward to expand and enhance our geographic reach into Leeds and then further into the North.

Iqbal added: “I am delighted to have worked with Sherad and his team at Shenward over the last few months. Shenward is an ambitious firm with a long history in the Yorkshire area with growth, client services and delivery being at the forefront of its business model. I am sure that Sherad will lead the firm to achieve its goals, where commitment to excellence is their primary objective.”

Chadwick Lawrence were the advisors to this transaction.
