Horticulture business completes acquisition with £35m funding package

A West Yorkshire-based landscape business has been acquired by Nurture Landscapes, a horticulture, landscape and grounds maintenance company in Surrey.

Grace Landscapes was purchased alongside Essex-based firm Enterprise Plants after Nuture Landscapes secured a £35m funding package from HSBC UK.

As a result of the two acquisitions, Nurture Landscape’s turnover has increased to £80m and now employs more than 1,100 people across the country.

Operating under the Nurture Landscapes brand from 2019, Grace Landscapes will help strengthen the company’s offering in the north of the country.

Peter Fane, managing director of Nurture Landscapes, said: “Since the start of 2018, we have increased our annual sales by £45m and feel privileged to have welcomed such strong, quality businesses.

“Both Grace Landscapes and Enterprise Plants bring with them a wealth of knowledge and experience that we value hugely. We’ve known these businesses for decades and look forward to continuing to deliver their excellent services to both existing and new clients.”

Nick Hicks, area director for Sussex and Surrey Corporate Banking at HSBC UK, added: “Nurture Landscapes has been on a steep growth curve over the last 12 months, which our Relationship Director Luke Howard has supported every step of the way.

“The acquisition of these two companies made perfect sense for Peter and his team, who are already setting their sights on the next venture. We look forward to continue providing financial backing to such an ambitious and entrepreneurial company.”

Nurture Landscapes’ business consists of landscape maintenance, winter gritting, plant displays and design and build construction, with the majority of Nurture’s turnover attributed to landscape maintenance to the corporate sector.
