Waste management business snapped up by Irish group

Waste management company Beauparc Group has completed the acquisition of Leeds-based Associated Waste Management (AWM).

Based in Ireland, Beauparc owns the Panda and Greenstar brands and entered the UK market in 2016 acquiring the New Earth Solutions Group.

In addition, the group also recently acquired WSR in Widnes and Scotwaste in Edinburgh.

Established more than 18 years ago, AWM operates 10 facilities in Yorkshire area and last reported annual revenues of £50m. The company has a £10m, 200,000 sq ft flagship warehouse in Stourton, Leeds.

AWM will continue to trade as AWM, with services continuing as normal from the company offices and sites. AWM’s main office will become the UK head office for Beauparc’s UK division.

Brian McCabe, managing director at Beauparc, said: “We are very pleased to conclude the acquisition of AWM as this adds to our growth strategy in the UK and brings a level of scale and processing capabilities to Beauparc.

“It is our intention to continue with what is already in place throughout AWM, and to build/develop this business even further, ensuring AWM continues to grow whilst still providing the quality of service that customers have been used to.”

“We are delighted that John Brooksbank will remain with the business to assist in the further growth and support the current senior management team including Tim Shapcott Commercial and Business Development Director and Colette Bloom Finance Director AWM.

“Eamonn Hanley will take on the Operations and Logistics Director role with immediate effect and the business will be supported from the wider Beauparc Group and management team.”

The exiting shareholders were advised by Mazars and Clarion.
