Accountancy firm expands into 4,500 sq ft offices

Accountancy firm Garbutt + Elliott has expanded its Leeds office into new 4, 500 sq ft premises, following the recent move of the firm’s York office.

The moves come after a record year, which has seen 45 new starters, including one new Partner, join the now  156-strong practice.  The Leeds office, which has moved to a different floor in its current location on Park Place, has seen 10 new employees join the team this year, expanding their Accounts and Audit, Private Clients, Corporate Finance, Business Tax and Operations teams. The relocation allows for the firm to continue its headcount growth across all areas whilst providing a fantastic environment and excellent surroundings for staff and clients to work and meet.

During its last financial year, Garbutt + Elliott saw its turnover increase by 19% to £7m and this trend has continued in the new financial year. The firm said the growth was driven by a series of significant new business wins, including several high calibre Leeds and regionally based businesses such as Tates Fuel Oils, Innergy, Network Medical and the Vendor Initiated Management Buy Out of SCS Group

Garbutt + Elliott Managing Partner, Russell Turner, said, “The growth in our Leeds based team has meant that we have outgrown our previous office, so along with our York office move we have relocated to a beautifully redeveloped space.  The refurbishment work we have carried out has created an impressive, exciting and functional working environment.  It allows for an open and friendly working culture, giving opportunity to bring both offices closer together by means of hot desking spaces and collaborative break out areas.  The completion of both moves marks a huge milestone for the company, its employees and customers who will all benefit from the opportunities this expansion presents.”

Commercial property lawyer, Jonathan Moore, of Lupton Fawcett advised on the lease.  As part of the move Garbutt + Elliott has donated all the furniture and office equipment, that they no longer require, to various charities, including Emmaus homeless charity, St John’s Ambulance Service and York City Football Club.

Across both office moves the company has donated a vast amount items including desks and chairs, meeting tables, computers and various other subsidiaries.
