Trio of business advisors launch new professional services firm

A new professional services company has been launched in Sheffield by three experienced business advisors.

The company, 7 Legal and Finance, is authorised by the Law Society under the Alternative Business Structure registration process and brings together Jeremy Bennett, Samantha Sellars and Chris Sellars.

The business will offer a range of services including corporate sales and purchases, business restructuring and turnaround, commercial property transactions, litigation matters and funding support.

Alternative Business Structures were introduced by the Legal Services Act 2007 and are overseen by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).

Jeremy Bennett, a qualified lawyer with over 25 years’ experience in a number of national law practices, in addition to owning his own law firm, said: “We’re all trusted advisors to our clients across a broad range of projects. Bringing together the breadth of our skills, qualifications and experience in one complete solution will ensure clients benefit from streamlined processes and easier communication.”

Chris Sellars, a chartered accountant with commercial experience including alternative finance options, added: “As a team, we feel the professional services market is ready for disruption and innovation. We believe that our alternative business structure will offer an innovative, cost-effective and transparent service for clients.”

7 Legal and Finance has already acquired the business of Mackenzie Spencer Corporate Finance, bringing both corporate finance skills and the team members, including Matthew Milnes, into the new operation.

Samantha Sellars, a commercial solicitor, also said: “The launch of 7 Legal and Finance is exciting. We are already recruiting to build the team and are currently in negotiations to open offices in Sheffield city centre and look forward to making an announcement about both very soon.”
