Yorkshire towns and cities top the UK list of largest drops in government spending
Three Yorkshire towns and cities have been named as seeing the largest fall in government spending in the country during the last decade.
Barnsley has been hardest hit by austerity in percentage terms, with a 40% reduction in its day-to-day council spending since 2009/10. Doncaster and Wakefield are third and fourth on the national list of hardest hit areas.
