100 Club: Paul Cheetham-Karcz, managing partner of Sedulo

Paul Cheetham-Karcz is the managing partner of accountancy firm, Sedulo. He is a member of the Leeds Community Foundation’s 100 Club, a patronage scheme for individuals who are motivated to make a difference in Leeds.

What is your favourite thing about Leeds?

It’s a progressive city, when you walk around you feel the buzz of the place.  It’s also very community focused, we are based on Park Square and I love the place in the summer.

What’s your ideal day out in Leeds?

My wife’s family are from Leeds and I had an amazing day having dinner over Xmas in the teepee tent at the Mustard Pot in Chapel Allerton followed by a walk around Roundhay Park and ended up in Dakota one of my favourite hotels!

What is the best lesson you have learnt in business?

I have learnt a few, be authentic is the main thing, believe in what you are doing!

What single thing do you think could help the city?

A Premier League Club!

What inspired you to join the 100 Club?

When we chose Leeds as our next city we wanted to make sure we didn’t only successfully operate in Leeds. We are here to make a difference to the community and the 100 club gives us an opportunity to infiltrate that local community.

What community issues are important to you?

There are so many but I find myself looking mainly at those that don’t have any choice whatsoever in their current predicament and that tends to lead me to children and wanting to help them.  Children growing up in poverty in the UK in 2019 is heart-breaking because it’s unnecessary.
