Global firm opens Leeds base after advising on £1.35bn regional transactions in 2018

GCA Altium, the European business of global investment bank GCA, is opening a Leeds office after advising on transactions totalling £1.35bn in the region during 2018.

The firm will be based in One Park Row and the opening follows a successful 2018 for GCA Altium in the region, advising on nine transactions with a total value of £1.35 bn. These include the sale of Deep Sea Electronics to Caledonia and the IPO of Team 17.

The office, which will be the 20th global base for the firm, will be headed up by Managing Director, Stuart Warriner. “I am delighted that we are opening in Leeds. The office will put us at the heart of the deal community and allow us to be closer to our clients. I believe that the fact that GCA is opening its 20th global office in Leeds shows real confidence in the prospects for the Yorkshire deals market,” said Warriner.

Warriner is well-known in the Yorkshire marketplace. He worked at PwC for 30 years, which included 10 years leading the firm’s corporate finance team in the North of England from Leeds and Manchester. In 2017, Warriner joined The Works’ board led by Dean Hoyle, founder of Card Factory – a position he held until July 2018.

He joined GCA Altium in April 2017 and also is currently a non-exec director at Endless-backed High Street TV.

Phil Adams, CEO of GCA Altium, added: “We are really excited to be extending our office coverage into Yorkshire. Our business has grown dramatically and is based on providing our clients with local presence alongside global coverage and Leeds follows hot on the heels of our recent office opening in Paris.”
