Manufacturer ceases trading after losing ‘major’ contract

A Doncaster-based manufacturer has fallen into administration after the loss of a “major” contract, with all 13 employees being made redundant.

Aremco Industries, which was founded in 1996, manufactured and fabricated metal for use in construction and engineering projects. The company operated from a 20,000 sq ft site on Coulman Road.

The company ceased trading on 14 February after running into cashflow pressures following the lost of the contract.

David Willis and Martyn Pullin, partners at FRP Advisory LLP, were appointed joint administrators on 26 February.

The company’s assets, which includes stock and machinery, are now being marketed for sale.

David Willis, partner at FRP Advisory, said: “Aremco Industries has been operating in Doncaster for more than 20 years, but recent challenges within the sector led to falling sales and the loss of a major contract.

“Our main focus now is to provide support to the affected employees and we’re working with the Redundancy Payments Service to ensure the best possible outcome during this difficult period.”
