People: Healthcare software firm appoints new CEO; Infrastructure group welcomes new COO; and more

Leeds-headquartered EMIS Group has announced two new appointments to its senior management team.

Suzy Foster is appointed CEO for EMIS Health. She will be responsible for EMIS Health’s end-to-end integrated care offerings to the NHS.

Foster has previously held senior roles at Microsoft UK and ran their healthcare business for four years. Her appointment follows EMIS Health’s launch of  EMIS-X, its next generation of connected healthcare technology.

She said: “I am delighted to be joining EMIS Health at such an exciting time. I am passionate about the impact that appropriate and secure data sharing can have on healthcare and am looking forward to unlocking the potential of EMIS-X to do this and improve health outcomes.”

Bob Brown will shortly take up the newly created role of Chief Solutions Officer at EMIS Health and will be responsible for building end-to-end health economy solutions for customers.

He is currently Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Manchester City Council and previously held senior positions at Aviva, Accenture and HCL. As CIO, he has been focused on the council’s IT strategy and joining up health and social care across the whole of Manchester.

Brown said: “I have extensive public and private sector experience and look forward to using that to put customers at the heart of solutions, using their knowledge to design products and services that work for them. I am excited about EMIS-X’s ability to meet modern healthcare’s needs and ensure effective and efficient services.”

Fulcrum, the Sheffield-based infrastructure and services provider, has appointed Terry Dugdale as its new Chief Operating Officer for its gas and multi-utility business.

He joins the company from Wolseley UK, where he was Trading Director of Wolseley Infrastructure companies: Fusion Utilities, Utility Power Systems and Utility Fibre Systems and MCA-Fusion Hire.

Dugdale is an Incorporated Engineer and member of the Institute of Gas Engineers and Managers and the Institute of Directors.

Dugdale started his career with British Gas and progressed into several senior operational management roles in the independent multi-utility contracting sector where he was responsible for the operational delivery and growth of these businesses.

He said: “I have 28 years’ experience within the utility industry, much of it in the rapidly developing multi-utility sector, and I will use my expertise to drive even greater growth and success.

“I’m focussed on evolving the industry-leading services Fulcrum provides by expanding its capabilities and investing in the future. I want our customers to know they are guaranteed a high-quality service first time, every time.”

Armstrong Watson LLP has announced appointment of Andrew Marshall as Accounting Director based in the firm’s Leeds office.

Marshall has previously held senior management positions at a number of accountancy firms, including Grant Thornton, and brings his expertise to Armstrong Watson’s accounting service line.

With a wealth of practice experience spanning over 30 years, Marshall works closely with owner managed, entrepreneurial businesses, providing proactive strategic support and advice.

Marshall includes retail, manufacturing, distribution, property and professional services amongst his sector specialisms and areas of knowledge and expertise.

PPSPower, the back-up generator and UPS services provider, has announced the appointment of new Lead Engineer, George Barraclough.

Barraclough joins the company on a permanent basis and will lead on operations in the Yorkshire region.

He is a electrical engineer, who has more than 35 years’ experience in the back-up power and FM sectors.

Prior to joining PPSPower, Barraclough was facilities manager working for CBRE on behalf of a major retail client. He also spent nine years working for Applied Power Engineering in Rotherham as a project manager, commissioning engineer, and tech support for ComAp generator controllers and generator installations.

At PPSPower, he will be responsible for overseeing several major contracts in the Yorkshire region. He will also support and mentor the firm’s mechanical engineers to further develop their electrical capabilities.
