Integumen subsidiary to expand into university workspace

Listed-company Integumen has announced that its subsidiary, Labskin, is expanding into additional office space at the University of Bradford.

Labskin produces animal-free, lab-grown simulated human skin, for testing cosmetic and pharma products for dandruff, acne, fungal and bacterial infection.

The company has agreed to occupy  workspace in the Digital Health Enterprise Zone (SHEZ) at the University of Bradford. This move expands the Labskin’s laboratories in York.

This workspace will allow the Labskin team close proximity to its collaboration partners at the Centre for Skin Sciences (CSS) which are based in the DHEZ.

Labskin and CSS are engaging in preliminary research, before embarking on a larger joint development project, with the support of technology funding partners.

Gerard Brandon, CEO of Integumen, said: “The Integumen ethos behind our plans for growth in the 21st Century draws upon a 395-year-old phrase. “No man is an island” (John Donne).

“Our development partners continue to grow, and we look forward to reaping the benefit of this collaboration, which represents our first external development facility within the University of Bradford and the Centre of Skin Science.”
