Expanding marine consultancy to acquire shipping business

McAusland Turner, the Hull-headquartered marine consultancy, is set to acquire West Sussex-based shipping firm Robmarine Shipping.

Once the deal is completed on 1 April for an undisclosed sum, Robmarine Shipping will become part of the expanded McAusland & Turner Group.

Established 25 years ago, Robmarine was searching to form a merger with another company because it believed a larger organisation will provide greater opportunities for further business growth.

Michael Robertson, Robmarine’s managing director, said: “McAusland’s exceeded our hopes for a firm we can combine with and continue the tradition we have for excellent service, deep expertise, and an environment our clients and associates want to be a part of.

“We will be able to provide our clients with many new services and areas of expertise in the future and we look forward to discussing those in more depth with them.”

Albert Weatherill, McAusland’s managing director, added: “This acquisition fits perfectly with our expansion programme and further enhances the McAusland’s brand. We see this as a great asset which also fits with our plans to further expand into a dedicated office in the City of London. I will be making a further announcement regarding that in due course.”
