Metal business completes move to new 21,500 sq ft enterprise zone units

A steel galvanizing and metal finishing company is now operating from a new 21,500 sq ft premises at the £10m South Kirkby Business Park, Wakefield.

GalvanizeUK purchased two units on the Marshall CDP Wakefield Enterprise Zone industrial development late last year in a deal negotiated by joint agents Carter Towler and AWS.

Nick Arundel of AWS said: “It’s fantastic to see units 4B and 4C in full operation now. Since they were bought last December GalvanizeUK has been undertaking a very extensive fit out of the buildings.

“GalvanizeUK supply galvanized steel products to companies operating in a broad range of sectors across the UK. Their new 21,500 sq ft operation here in the heart of Yorkshire will bring many much needed jobs to this area.”

Marshall CDP first commenced this third phase three of its speculative 11 acre industrial development in 2014. Of the five new properties built totalling over 104,850 sq ft just one remains.

Hazel Cooper of Carter Towler, added: “Unit 4A which is 13,600 sq ft is the only unit unoccupied; it is competitively available for purchase at £85 per square foot or to rent at £6.25 per square foot. Either way this is a great opportunity for a business looking for a new foothold in the region or for one that is expanding.”

Pat Coffey, business development manager at Wakefield Council, said: “The location is good, being adjacent to the new A628 and just minutes from the A1, A1(M) and M62 motorway network, and there is the valuable added benefit of the Enterprise Zone’s financial incentives.”

The first two companies to move onto the business park were shredding firm PHS Data Solutions and commercial vehicle converters VFS.
