Fintech North will be returning to its hometown of Leeds this month, bringing with it some of the biggest names in FinTech and taking on a new expanded format to include more content and speakers.

Taking place on the 23 May at Cloth Hall Court, delegates will hear from some of the nation’s financial powerhouses – including the Financial Conduct Authority, Bank of England, Mastercard and First Direct – along with the North’s brightest startup stars.

For anyone interested in the regional economy or FinTech as a whole, this is an unmissable event, following a sell-out conference in Manchester last month. In a day of presentations, speeches, panel sessions and showcases, speakers will debate the big issues facing the FinTech sector today – discussing regional FinTech initiatives, the national picture, and how we can drive innovation further.

Over 300 delegates will have the opportunity to network and benefit from the expertise of organisations and individuals they may not otherwise have access to – both big, established players in the Financial Services and FinTech sectors, and the startups who are at the forefront of innovation. They’ll also be able to take advantage of FinTech North’s culture of collaboration by forging new partnerships and making deals.

For the first time in three years, the Leeds conference will split into three different streams in the afternoon, so delegates can enjoy in-depth discussions on the topics most relevant to them. These streams will focus on mortgages, RegTech, and innovation, diversity, growth, and funding. The day will close with an interactive session on the dark web, looking at what FinTechs can learn from high-risk markets where innovation is the key to survival, before networking and (free!) drinks begin.

Since its creation in 2016, FinTech North has become the focal point for the FinTech community in the Northern Powerhouse. It is an open and collaborative platform for sharing ideas, challenges and best practice, for showcasing innovative startups and scale-ups, and for facilitating the connections which create real value for businesses and consumers. FinTech North has delivered over 35 events across the north of England, drawing over 4000 attendees, with speakers from 21 different countries.
