Green light for Harrogate housing development

Harrogate Council have given property consultancy Pegasus Group and Linden Homes the green light for a housing development in Killinghall.

The Grainbeck Lane site will be home to a 55-home residential site. It has been allocated for housing in Harrogate’s Local Plan.

Despite highways and landscape objections, the urban design team from Pegasus Group’s Leeds office worked with Linden Homes and Harrogate Council on improvements throughout the application process.

It will include three one-bedroom properties, 15 two-bed, 18 three-bed, 12 four-bed and 7 five-bed homes, with public open space at the southern entrace.

Chris Hunter, senior director with Pegasus Group, said: “We were confident that the final plans submitted promoted the objectives of sustainable development through layout and design.

“We were pleased that Harrogate Council acknowledged the design and layout improvements made and that officers subsequently recommended the plans for approval. We believe that this new development will create an integrated residential community with a sensitive relationship to the existing urban environment and its setting.”
