Market Kitchen fully let

The Market Kitchen at Leeds Kirkgate Market, which opened in 2016, is now fully let.

Offering a mix of street food, tenants include the BBC award winning Manjit’s Kitchen and the Yorkshire Wrap Company, while the current trend for Bao buns is being catered for at Banh & Mee.

Other street food options include Jenny’s Jerk Chicken, Tea pot, Mr Mackeral, Frizza Pizza, Instanbul Bakery and Fat Annies.

Leeds Kirkgate Market is now adding three new street food stalls to its Market Kitchen. First up is the Fisherman’s Wife which has been trading on George Street since the 1960’s.

Meanwhile Istanbul Bakery will be extending its business and will be producing homemade Turkish breads and Baklava.

The Market Kitchen will also become home to Kanassa, serving Colombian-inspired street food.

Cllr  Asghar Khan, Leeds City Council’s deputy executive member with responsibility for markets, said: “The Leeds street food scene has been expanding rapidly and Leeds Kirkgate Market is leading the way with ensuring we offer a variety of quality street food.

“The growing interest means we have expanded the Market Kitchen with three new businesses and highlights that the market is a place where new food businesses are looking to start up. We have already seen new food vendors like OWT and Manjit’s thrive whilst being at the market.”
