Gordons’ managing partner, Paul Ayre

Yorkshire law firm Gordons’ ongoing growth and development strategy has seen it increase turnover by 7% to £17.1m in the year to 31 March 2019, with net profits jumping 13% to £7.3m.

During the 12 month period, Gordons started new relationships with a variety of companies including online grocer Ocado, sportswear lifestyle brand Gym King and property developer Carnell Management Services.

The firm was also successful at growing its business with existing clients such as retailers AO, B&M, Iceland Foods and Wren Kitchens.

During the year, Gordons launched a new technology practice area and signed a three-year partnership with technology investment platform NorthInvest.

Gordons made a six-figure investment in new premises for its Bradford office. The business employs 200 people across its Leeds and Bradford offices.

Gordons’ managing partner, Paul Ayre, said: “We’ve built a lot of momentum over the past two years and the firm is in great shape.

“Our success is due to some factors which are distinct to Gordons. We’re authentic and relatable. We avoid complication wherever we can.

“Most importantly, we’ve come to realise that we work best with strongly-led, entrepreneurial clients. We build great relationships with the leaders of these businesses.”

Gordons clients also include supermarket giant Morrisons, construction and high-performance materials manufacturer Saint Gobain and international brewers Molson Coors.
