New editorial team member at TheBusinessDesk.com Yorkshire

Experienced journalist Miran Rahman has joined TheBusinessDesk.com’s Yorkshire editorial team.

Rahman’s appointment comes as the news platform continues to increase subscribers and page views across its daily, weekly and property newsletters. Covering a wide range of topics and sectors across the whole of the Yorkshire region for TheBusinessDesk.com, Rahman joined the team last week from the Keighley News, where he worked for more than 13 years.

Rahman said: “I’m excited and pleased to have joined TheBusinessDesk.com Yorkshire after spending nearly 16 and a half years as a news reporter. I’ve had a very diverse experience, as I spent my first three years as a broadcast journalist on the island of Guernsey – where I lived for 26 years – before moving in 2005 to work in England and the sharply contrasting town of Keighley.

“I’ll never forget covering incidents such as a massive mill fire and several murders, as well as countless other stories, ranging from inspiring tales to the downright bizarre. I’ve dealt with a huge range of people since beginning work as a journalist in 2001 and I think that variety will stand me in good stead for my new role here in Yorkshire.

“I hope to hear from companies across the county with great stories to tell about the work they are doing to boost their respective industries while creating employment and promoting innovation.”

Rahman will be based at TheBusinessDesk.com’s Round Foundry Media Centre office in Leeds, where the team have also recently appointed a new events team member to support the firm’s ever busier events calendar.

Upcoming events include a Women in Business Lunch with the CEO of acquisitive estate agency Hunters on July 12th and a Summer Networking BBQ  on August 2.

TheBusinessDesk.com is also gearing up to host the Northern Leadership Awards, for which entries need to be submitted by Friday July 19.
