Firecracker Ball aims to hit £3m mark at this year’s event

Charity event in the Firecracker Ball is aiming to reach a target of £3m raised for Barnardo’s since it became its chosen charity in 2002.

The total raised to date is just short of £2.8m, so the annual event is aiming to raise £200,000. Last year, £265,000 was raised on the evening.

The prestigious black tie event, for which is media partner, will be held on Saturday 9 November at Rudding Park Hotel and this year’s theme is ‘Four Seasons’ where guests will be transported to a seasonal extravaganza as they enter a bespoke marquee attached to the hotel.

The committee will soon be announcing a huge headline act and other surprises for the hundreds of guests at the black tie event, including high profile celebrity appearances and ‘money can’t buy’ auction prizes.

Kirsty Guy, senior relationship manager, from Barnardo’s said: “The Firecracker Ball is a fabulous opportunity to host clients or friends at a truly memorable event. It’s a must for Yorkshire’s leading corporate businesses and entrepreneurs, with many companies and individuals returning year on year. Tables are selling fast, so the committee are therefore urging people to book as soon as possible to ensure they don’t miss out.”

“We are really grateful to the companies and individuals who help us deliver this fantastic event to the highest standards, in the most cost-effective way, giving our participants the greatest support. The funds raised are helping to make sure Barnardo’s  across Yorkshire can continue to offer services to help children flourish, help keep families strong, and help communities to protect and nurture their young people.”

Lee-J Walker, managing director at, said: “ We are once again delighted to support this prestigious event for Barnardo’s’ as media partner.  We hope that the proceeds from this year’s Firecracker will help Barnardo’s to continue to create positive change  and care for vulnerable children in the Yorkshire region.”
