Weekender: Platinum selling artist Tom Zanetti launching city centre bar

The Leeds nightlife scene is about to get an upgrade with a £250,000 investment in a new bar called Dollhouse.

Based in a Grade II listed building in the city centre’s historical Hirst’s Yard, the bar has been designed as a fresh concept from local man and platinum selling artist Tom Zanetti, and DJ and entrepreneur Kane Towning.

The venue is off Call Lane and used to be known as Red Door. The property is currently undergoing a lavish makeover.

Dollhouse will launch with a star-studded private VIP party on Saturday 27th July, and will then be open for business with four public launch nights between 1-4th August.

Zanetti is a familiar face on the UK dance music scene. He and Towning have toured the world together promoting and performing at clubs and festivals. Dollhouse is a fusion of their industry knowledge and passion for music and parties.

Zanetti said: “After a whirlwind decade of music and running sell-out events, we felt the stars were aligned when it came to bringing Dollhouse to our hometown.

“The people of Leeds know how to have a good time, and this venue is the perfect blank canvas to create the ultimate nightlife destination.

“Kane and I go way back, and we’ve always known how to play to our strengths to turn and create a great party. The concept is going to be something really special and is something we’ve worked towards for 15 years. We cannot wait to bring Dollhouse to Leeds!”

Zanetti’s 2016 smash ‘You Want Me’ topped the iTunes chart and has amassed over 30 million streams on Spotify. Follow up track ‘More & More’ swallowed up tabloid news column inches, thanks to its steamy music video shot in the Ibiza Hills with model Demi Rose.

Appearances on Love Island, MTV’s Just Tattoo of Us, Good Morning Britain and 4Music Live have only solidified Zanetti’s status.

His friend and business partner, Towning, is the mastermind behind the Made In Leeds Festival. When he is not working on his next event, Towning can be found playing in clubs across the world as a DJ.

After falling in love with music and mixing at the age of 13, Towning has carved an impressive DJ career of his own. His recent Tech remix of Meduza’s ‘Piece of Your Heart’ with Josh Hunter has been filling dancefloors across Europe and has been played on BBC Radio One.
