Four unit industrial development launches

A commercial development in South Yorkshire which will feature four new industrial units has been officially launched.

Barmston Developments, a joint venture between Wilton Developments and Clugston Estates, has been constructing the Enterprise 36 scheme in Tankersley.

Following deals completed by the developer on Unit 3 and Unit 4, only one 77,000 sq ft unit and one fully prepared plot with planning for 100,500 sq ft remain available. Barmston has appointed Yorkshire-based contractor Stainforth Construction to build the units.

Enterprise 36 is one mile from junction 36 of the M1. In April and June respectively, commercial property company CBRE jointly with Commercial Property Partners (CPP) completed deals on Unit 4 to William Rowland and Unit 3 to label printing specialists Dura ID Solutions.

Twenty dignitaries and regional agents have now visited the site to view the progress Stainforth has made with the construction of units for William Rowland and Dura ID Solutions, and also to inspect plots one and two.

Unit 2 is currently under construction and will provide 77,000 sq ft of distribution or manufacturing space. It is due for completion in January 2020.

Unit 1 is available on a Design and Build basis with site preparation completed and detailed planning in place for the building, allowing delivery within the next eight months.

Barmston Developments is being supported by Barnsley Council’s Property Investment Fund and their Enterprising Barnsley investment team, which is providing advice alongside specialist business coaching to the companies already committed to the first two units at Enterprise 36.

Councillor Tim Cheetham, Barnsley Council’s Cabinet Spokesperson for Regeneration and Culture, said: “It’s great to see the progress being made at Enterprise 36, which is already proving to be a real success story for the borough.

“This major development is an excellent example of how our Property Investment Fund is creating high quality jobs and boosting our local economy.”

Mike Baugh, Senior Director at CBRE Leeds, said: “We are delighted to launch Enterprise 36, offering occupiers a rare opportunity to purchase or lease high quality industrial accommodation in a highly sought after location along the M1 corridor.

“The speed of the two recent sales of Unit 3 and Unit 4 demonstrates the high demand which remains for space of this calibre, and the quality of development that the partners at Barmston Developments deliver.”

CBRE are acting as joint agents on the scheme with CPP.
