Yorkshire brownie brand to open its newest cafe

A Yorkshire-based Brownie making company is marking its 10th birthday with launch of a new venue in the Dales.

Love Brownies, started in 2009 by husband and wife team Lee and Chantal Teal, has grown from a small online gifting business to an expanding chain of cafés and brownie shops across the UK.

The business’s latest venture sees it combine a new bakery, which supplies its increasing number of franchises, with a Brownie Barn café in Barden, near Bolton Abbey.

Visitors will be able to enjoy breakfast, lunch, smoothies, milkshakes, coffee and a range of gluten-free chocolate brownies in a variety of flavours.

In addition to the Brownie Barn, Love Brownies in Ilkley will relaunch on the same day following a refurbishment. With additional seating and an expanded menu, this was the first of the Love Brownies venues – opening in 2016.

Co-founder and head baker Chantal Teal said: “The last ten years has simply flown by and it’s great to be celebrating our birthday with such an exciting next step in our journey.

“The Barn has a sizeable kitchen which will enable us to make many more of our unique, hand-made brownies for our cafes and shops, as well as adding a great venue to such a beautiful area.”

Love Brownies has also opened in West Kirby near Liverpool, as well as in Islington and Southgate in North London. These will soon be complemented with additional cafes in Harrogate and Stirling.

The Brownie Barn in Barden is due to open its doors on Saturday 13 July, and will be open seven days a week.
