£2.2m funding secured for college’s new innovation hub

A college is to receive £2.2m to build a new Digital Innovation Hub.

Barnsley College is one of 11 providers to secure funding  from the Department of Education in readiness for the introduction of T Level qualifications in September 2020.

Yiannis Koursis, Principal and Chief Executive of Barnsley College, said: “We are elated to have been awarded this additional funding so we can prepare our buildings and ensure our students continue to learn in state-of-the-art facilities when they join the College in September 2020.”

Barnsley College will be one of 54 colleges, and the only college in South Yorkshire, to pilot T Levels from September 2020.
