Surveying and property management firm Scanlans has strengthened its Leeds office with two appointments.

The new recruits are property manager Shabnam Shahid and commercial surveyor Mark Williams, who each have extensive experience of the Yorkshire market.

Shahid has joined Scanlans from Leeds-based Watson Property Management, where she worked for more than five years.

Williams has moved from Dacres Commercial, which has six offices in Yorkshire.

The appointments come amid strong growth for Scanlans. The firm has secured a raft of recent property management deals across West and South Yorkshire, including sites in Leeds, Allerton Bywater, Rotherham and the village of Wentbridge, near Pontefract.

Alongside property management, Scanlans provides commercial and residential property valuations and surveys, building surveying and LPA Receivership services.

Scanlans chairman Ian Stanistreet said: “Mark and Shabnam join as part of our strategy to grow our presence in Leeds and serve our expanding client base in the region.

“They are great additions to the team at a time when we are seeing surging demand for our services across a buoyant Yorkshire market.”

Scanlans is a national practice with offices in Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham and London. It has seven partners and 65 staff.

A new centre manager at Lakeside Village sees a familiar face return to the retail shopping outlet next week.

Di Rodgers joins the team at the Doncaster outlet shopping centre, from a store management role at Marks and Spencer, which included a 10-year period overseeing the store at Lakeside Village.

She said: “I worked at the centre until the end of 2017 so there are a lot of familiar faces and I am looking forward to working with them and our other brand partners to ensure we continue to deliver a superb shopping experience within Doncaster.

“Lakeside Village has a place at the heart of the Doncaster community, and I can’t wait to build on the solid foundations we have with key organisations across the town.”
