More skilled jobs to be created at tech firm

An expanding technology firm based in Scarborough is aiming to create 10 new posts at its operation over the next 12 months.

Genilogic specialises in health and safety software. The business released its first software solution, CRAMS, to the market in April 2018 after three years of development. It is a cloud-based health and safety software product which has been designed, developed and managed completely in-house.

Tim Chadwick, Finance Director, said:  “Our original business plan allowed for slow growth over the next five years.

“However, due to the success of CRAMS, we have been able to accelerate the growth rate on the business plan to expand the team over the next 12 months.”

Genilogic is creating positions in its Scarborough office for a book keeper, a front-end developer, a back-end developer and a product specialist to assist in deployments, as well as looking for two non-executive directors for the business.

Chadwick, who started his own career as a heating and ventilation engineer on an indentured apprenticeship, has also planned for four apprentice positions over the next 12 months, the first of which is a Digital Marketing Assistant and is already being advertised.

He said once the new starter has been recruited, a further three apprentices will be sought to join the team in the form of two Apprentice Software Developers and a Business Administration Apprentice.

“We have always been passionate about Scarborough as a location, and we are thrilled to be able to give back to our local community so soon by creating these apprentice positions, especially in such technical roles,” he said.

The Digital Marketing Assistant position will be advertised by East Riding College via the National Apprenticeship service and on the college’s website.

Jo Thompson, Sales and Marketing Director at Genilogic, said: “Our vision for the marketing department is now slightly out of reach owing to just not having enough hours in the day. So we are thrilled to be recruiting for an extra pair of hands and we can’t wait to introduce them to the exciting opportunity we have for an enthusiastic learner.”
