Renowned head chef appointed at city centre restaurant
Yorkshire-born chef Murray Wilson has joined Crafthouse and Angelica as Executive Head Chef, bringing with him more than 12 years of award-winning, global experience.
Murray, who has a passion for refined and precise cooking, joins Crafthouse and Angelica from Rudding Park Hotel in North Yorkshire, where he was Executive Chef at Horto, which was awarded 3AA stars under his direction.
His career began at Gordon Ramsay at Claridge’s, Mayfair in London before moving back north to Harrogate to fulfil the role of Head Chef at Hotel du Vin, Harrogate. This was followed by an appearance on Masterchef- The Professionals, where he reached the finals and a stint across the pond in Canada putting his Yorkshire stamp on prestigious restaurants.
Murray said: “Crafthouse has such a well-respected reputation and I’m looking forward to adding my influence to its legacy. I’m planning on using good produce properly, allowing the flavours to shine through using classic techniques.”
Murray has already began making subtle but exciting changes to Crafthouse’s dishes, with new menus set to launch in August.
Guillaume Sanzey, Senior General Manager of Crafthouse & Angelica, added: “We are thrilled to have Murray on board.
“His passion, drive and incredible expertise reflect perfectly the vision we have for the future of Crafthouse and Angelica. Having him in the kitchen is something we are all very excited about”.
