Law firm hits £100m global profits

Law firm Addleshaw Goddard, which has its Leeds office at Sovereign Square, has recorded global record revenues and profits.

Its global revenue for the year ended March 31 2019 stood at £275.4m – the highest on record, with a 14% up year-on-year rise from the £242m achieved in 2017/18.

The firm added that its profits exceeded £100m for the first time ever,  with a 16% increase on 2017/18. Addleshaw Goddard also paid the highest PEP on record at £727,000, a 12% increase.

Its Yorkshire work during the year included advising William Jackson Food Group on the acquisitions of premium Mediterranean & Middle Eastern ingredients brand, Belazu and premium ingredients wholesaler Wellocks. It also acted on the sale of the group’s most significant company, the iconic Yorkshire pudding business, Aunt Bessie’s, to Nomad Foods.

Its Real Estate team also acted on the complex, high value pre-let to Premier Farnell of the largest ever warehouse developments in Leeds, a new 361,000 sq ft distribution centre at Muse’s flagship Logic Leeds site on the south-east side of the city.
