Law firm reports record year with £111m turnover

Law firm Mills & Reeve has reported a year of growth with turnover rising to £110.9 million – an increase of 4.3% on last year.

The firm’s Leeds office reported an 11% rise in fee income following organic growth and new client wins. As a result of the strong financial performance the firm given all staff a £1,5000 bonus.

Philip Way, head of the Leeds office, said: “It has been an excellent year which has seen all our teams produce a strong performance following new client wins and increased instructions from existing clients.

“The corporate and commercial teams have advised on many transactions both in the region and nationally, particularly in the technology and healthcare sectors, while the dispute team has further cemented its reputation as one of the pre-eminent professional negligence teams in Yorkshire following an excellent performance.

“The real estate team continues to act for high profile players in the sector and our private client teams remain the go-to experts for high-net-worth individuals and businesses in the region after securing a wealth of new clients.

“One of the firm’s key strength is its sector focus and, following on from the success of last year’s Top Tech Yorkshire which is designed celebrate dynamic companies which are putting the county on the map as a growing hub for technological innovation, we are looking forward to launching the initiative again this Autumn.”
