Turnover hits £750,000 and more staff recruited at digital agency

A Leeds company which launched three years ago has seen its best financial year to date, with a 50% increase in turnover to £750,000.

Digital agency Perfect Storm, based in the city centre, has also increased its team to six people with the appointment of two members of staff.

Tom Downes, 33, has joined as Delivery Director, and brings with him more than a decade of senior project management experience working for agencies such as TwentySix and Creative Race.

Ben Croake, 25, joins as a Digital Producer, and comes from an account management and business development background at Jaywing and TwentySix, as well as time spent in house at Oracle Finance. An additional digital producer is due to start work with the business in September, taking the team to seven.

Unlike a traditional agency, Perfect Storm uses an in-house team of senior digital producers and directors and, as needed, brings in highly qualified specialists from their network of partners to assist with specific briefs.

This allows the company to handpick a “dream team” for every project, which is more cost effective for the client, rather than over-staffing or relying on those who don’t have the necessary skills or experience.

The agency has worked with clients such as the CBI, James Wellbeloved, Royal Canin, CITU, and Claridges.

Recent new business wins have included providing strategy and website development for Boutinot Wines, brand and website development for telecoms company Principle Networks and website project work for interiors brand Grand Illusions.

Adam Errington, who set up Perfect Storm with Dave Nutter, said: “It’s been a busy year, with lots of fantastic new clients and projects to work on.

“We’re delighted that things are continuing to go from strength to strength, and I think it very much proves that the concept behind Perfect Storm is the right one.

“You only need to look at the continuous growth of talent turning to freelance working, which means the pool of talent within our network is getting stronger and stronger.

“We were fortunate enough to switch on a number of our specialists to help us deliver our own recent redesign of the Perfect Storm website. We’re really proud of the output, the standout it now has, and the new content that people can engage with to find out more about us.”
