WORK to revamp a Yorkshire town hall is underway.

Property contractor Strategic Team Group, based in Castleford, has started to build a new extension and renovate the Grade II listed hall in Hebden Bridge.

The scheme aims to give the Yorkshire town a new community and enterprise facility, as well as opening up the river Hebden waterfront for a new public square.

In a deal worth almost £3m, STG was appointed by Hebden Bridge Community Association to carry out the construction work.
