Eco-firm makes Yorkshire move

A RENEWABLE energy company has expanded into Yorkshire as part of a national growth plan.

Liverpool-based Eco Environments has set up an office in Leeds as part of its plan to opening in every major regional centre.

Eco Environments began trading less than four years ago and this year is on course to nearly quadruple turnover to £5.5m. It designs, installs and commissions renewable energy solutions for the domestic, commercial and construction sectors.

Specialism include Solar Photovoltaic (PV) panels, wind turbines, solar thermal and air source heat pumps.

Joe Bramley has been appointed business development manager for Yorkshire and will be based in Leeds.

David Hunt, a director with Eco Environments, said: “During the past couple of years we have completed a number of projects in Yorkshire so it was only a matter of time before we decided to open an office in the region.

“There does appear to be a lot of interest in renewable energy technologies in the region, possibly more so than any other region in which we currently operate.”

Eco Environments now employs 46 people compared to 11 at the same time last year and it is on course to increase turnover from £1.4m to £5.5m.

Apart from Liverpool and Leeds, Eco Environments has regional offices in Carlisle, Newcastle, Manchester, Birmingham and North Wales. During the next few months, further offices will open in the south of England.
