2012 Market Outlook – Be upbeat or beat a retreat?

WITH global market conditions impacting the performance of the stock market in 2011, what does the future hold for the next 12 months and which are the stocks to watch?

Following the huge success of last year’s market outlook event, TheBusinessDesk.com has again teamed up with Redmayne-Bentley Stockbrokers to bring together three experts to highlight the opportunities available to investors during the year ahead.

We are holding our latest seminar, ‘2012 Market Outlook – Be upbeat or beat a retreat?’, at Aspire in Leeds on January 12.

Redmayne-Bentley investment managers, David Scott, David Battersby and Morven Whyte, will give their experts insights and analysis on what will influence the markets in 2012 and give their views on which shares and sectors will offer the best returns.

With both the US and UK predicted to go into recession in the early part of 2012, our experts will predict where future growth could come from.

Whether inflation will trend back towards target, what that means for further quantitative easing measures, and how this may affect confidence will also be explored.

Mr Scott will give an update on market conditions, Mr Battersby will give fixed interest recommendations, including opportunities afforded by the London Stock Exchange’s order book for retail bonds, and Ms Whyte will pick out a number of equity recommendations.

Redmayne-Bentley was last week named ‘Stockbroker of the Year 2011’ at the Financial Times and Investors Chronicle Investment Awards 2011.

Redmayne-Bentley scooped the top award of the night along with ‘Execution-Only Stockbroker of the Year’  and ‘Best Stockbroker for Certificated Trade’.

Ian Briggs, Editor of TheBusinessDesk.com, said: “While on-going uncertainties in both global and overseas markets continue to hit stock markets, opportunities still exist for investors at all levels to take advantage of present economic conditions.

“The knowledge and experience of Redmayne-Bentley’s experts will be invaluable as investors look to navigate a path to a profitable return on their portfolios.”

The seminar, at Aspire in Leeds on Thursday, January 12 from 7.30am to 9am, is free to attend and also includes breakfast and refreshments.

In addition to the speakers, other Redmayne-Bentley advisers will be on hand to talk to delegates before and after the seminar.
