CHILDHOOD favourites Toad, Mole, Ratty and Badger were among the first visitors through Visit York's new state-of-the-art information centre.

The actors from the summer production of Wind in the Willows at York Theatre Royal were just some of the more unusual guests invited to the centre's grand opening.

Stilt walkers, a samba band, and vikings also toured the city to let visitors and locals know that the centre is open at Musuem Street.
