FRANCHISING in Yorkshire generated £1bn in turnover in 2007, according to new research.

The Natwest/British Franchise Association survey revealed that despite an uncertain economic backdrop, the growth of franchising continues to gain momentum, with the industry being worth a record £12.4bn.

The figure was a 15% increase on the previous year's figure of £10.8bn.
